Units are powered up before shipping: Modicon CPUs booted on a rack with a power supply, I/O modules checked for bus presence and channel response, Altivar and Altistart run where the frame allows, LC1D coils and GV trip units exercised, Phaseo supplies loaded and measured.
Obsolescence drives most of these requests. Quantum, Premium TSX57, Micro TSX37 and Altivar 28 through 71 are discontinued, and a current M580 or ATV630 means new wiring, a new program and re-commissioning. How to identify the right replacement

- Rack composition: on Quantum, Premium and M340 a module alone will not run. Record the rack, the power supply and the slot position.
- Drive rating block: the ATV reference encodes power, supply voltage and EMC filter. Match voltage class, output current, frame size and brake resistor arrangement.
- Software revision: Quantum, Premium and M340 run in Unity Pro or Control Expert, M221 to M251 in SoMachine or Machine Expert, and Altivar parameters do not cross generations.
- Coil and trip data: on TeSys D the coil voltage, AC or DC, pole count and auxiliary block. On GV2ME, GV3P and ComPact NSX, the trip range and whether the trip unit is included.
